In general, where to get what in Costa Rica
Hardware Stores, Construction Supply Houses, Nurseries, Electrical Supplies, Furniture, Decorative Items, Towels, etc...
- Artificial Thatching - this stuff is kinda taking this area of Costa Rica by storm. I have to get on my tip toes and look close to tell that it isn't actually palm thatching.
- Construplaza - This is exactly as the name implies, a mall of various construction materials. Pumps, tiles, windows and doors, general hardware, lighting, plumbing etc...
- Fernandez Aguilar - fine ceramics.
- EPA - A huge construction materials place, like Home Depot. VERY yellow.
- AquaSmart - Water filters
- Gallos Marmoleria - this is the source for some of the natural stone tiles that you'll find in some of the above outlets.
Building a house in Costa Rica
can be a daunting task. There are language issues, trust issues, where to get stuff issues, how much is this supposed to cost issues, etc...
I will here
list the construction resources as I discover them. I can't yet say that I recommend anyone, since we are kinda new to the construction game here. But, I will list anyone here that I have not received a bad report on.
