Design

Casa Lidio in Dominical

Stylish clean lines and spaces characterize Casa Lidio's modern contemporary feel and design.   High spacious ceilings create a light and airy ambiance, which combined with tall walls of glass block and double-paned glass give one the feeling of being outside while comfortably protected inside the climate controlled environment.  And the option to be outside proves easily accessible also, as the double-paned glass walls fold back easily to completely transform the indoor space into part of the terrace or back in a matter of seconds.

With two separate levels, the house also offers the option of being used as individual, distinct units, as it has separate entrances for upstairs and downstairs and both levels boast spacious kitchens with the finest in stainless steel sinks, fridges, and stoves.  They share only the pool, the carport, and the laundry room in common.

Details and Finishings

Inside Casa Lidio

Besides comfort and lavish views of the Pacific Ocean, Casa Lidio offers a myriad of fine details to please the eye and the thrill the senses. Stainless steel wood capped handrails surround the terraces, granite countertops crown the custom red cedar cabinetry, and limestone, Brazilian cherry, and turquoise acid etched concrete with hardwood inlay coat the floors.  The saltwater pool system (easy on the eyes and skin) spills over a green glass tile infinity edge affording lavish views of the ocean and forest below.  Custom tiled showers and tub make rinsing off after the pool a truly decadent experience.  At the end of the day, two sumptuous king beds and two twins, all with memory foam tops, plus a fold out double sofa, a fold out twin sofa chair, and two more large comfy sofa's allow sleeping ten or eleven people easily.  Bird song, the babbling brook below, and exuberant flowers and foliage greet guests upon waking.

The Land

Casa Lidio - Dominical

Casa Lidio sits perched on the hillside overlooking the jungle and the majestic Pacific Ocean, creating a sensation of flying or sailing out towards the ocean.  It's hard to resist the temptation to shout, as Leonard D'Caprio in The Titanic, "I'm the king of the world" when standing at the peak or bow of the top wraparound deck.  The house sits on a sprawling two and half acres, with no immediately visible neighbors, which meets the needs of the most privacy oriented individual or family.  The lot itself has plenty of room for additional constructions, orchards, or trails, and affords a variety of hikes and nature experiences, from sitting beside the cascading creek to watching the toucans fly by as the red sun slips into the ocean.

The Area

Casa Lidio in Dominical

Casa Lidio represents the best of the newly burgeoning Southern Zone.  It lies halfway between the beach towns of Dominical and Uvita, both of which though small and quaint, host a variety of tourist oriented and commercial services.  It sits two kilometers up the mountainside, slightly cooler but still close to the warm beach and ocean below.  The zone is one of the most beautiful and spectacular places on earth, with mountains rising steeply out of the ocean, swathed in misty clouds and verdant forest.   The zone frames the northern border of the Osa Peninsula, classified by National Geographic and the United Nations as the most biodiverse place on earth, and Casa Lidio shines as a particularly brilliant facet in this gem of a place.
