Dominical Dot Biz is probably the oldest site dedicated to this small surfing village, turned tourist destination, here on the southern pacific edge of Costa Rica. My name is Ben Vaughn, and I have lived here in The Zone since 1999, and have documented my experiences here extensively through the pages of this site, and my real estate blog located at www.thezoneblog.com.

My company is called Guys In The Zone and I assist people in re-locating to this area, or just simply to know what all is involved in a visit to the area. I live in Uvita, which is just south of Dominical (about a 12 minute drive). The next town to the south is Ojochal. These are the three main towns that make up what we refer to here as The Zone.

There has been a considerable effort of late to market The Zone as Costa Ballena.  The local chamber of Commerce is doing an admirable job of getting this name out there and publicized globally.

So, long story short, Dominical Dot Biz started off as my hobby interest for building a site that services the needs of what was at that time, a very out of the way place on the edge of the known universe.  Now, years later, we are still a bit remote, but there are some vibrations of actual tourism going on here.  So, my little site has become a tourist guide to the area.
