Costa Rica is a truly amazing country. Roca Verde is located in a truly amazing part of this country. The coast all around Roca Verde and the Dominical area has the jungle coming right down to the ocean. One can string up a hammock and be in the shade right alongside the waves.

The beach is a very gradual slope down to the water, meaning that at low tide the water seems to recede way out to where the break used to be... one feels like they are walking on a football field made of perfectly flat sand. If a person is given to pensive moments, there are some rocks provided where one can climb up and sit amidst the waves and watch out over the ocean. Whatever rageddness from the stresses of life that we bring to the rock are smoothed out after just a few sessions.

If one is looking for a little more action than that provided by watching waves, there is several world class surf spots within walking distance on the beach from Roca Verde. Jogging on this beach is reputed to be some of the finest anywhere.

After spending the day on the beach, or hiking to a nearby waterfall, or touring a canopy zipline, one will find the quiet and comfort of one of the six rooms at Roca Verde to be just the thing to get ready for the next day's activities, or inactivities as the case may be.

Roca Verde is owned and run by Mike, a North American who appreciates the comfort of quality. Being able to obtain the "things" that one perhaps took for granted in the US can sometimes be a challenge in Latin America. Mike has gone the extra mile to ensure that a stay in Roca Verde's rooms is not only quiet and clean, but very comfortable as well.
