Ecotourism Defined:
"Ecotourism is a nature based form of specialty travel defined by
The International Ecotourism Society (TIES) as 'responsible travel to natural
areas which conserves the environment and sustains the well-being of local people.'

There is a lot of talk about "Tourism" in Costa Rica. The reason being, of course, is that there are many tourists that choose Costa Rica as a preferred destination. Perhaps one of the biggest reasons being that of "ecology". Hence, "ecotourism".

Costa Rica offers a refreshing step back into a time of big trees and rampant life all around. Ecotourism is

Dominical is at its very heart the personification of "Ecology". There are enormous jungles, numerous rivers, and expansive beaches that are home to a staggering variety of birds insects, and rain forest animals. A visitor to the Dominical area is likely to see several varieties of monkeys, bird varieties beyond counting, numerous mammals, and if one is particularly quiet, some amazing reptiles.

There are some admirable re-forestation efforts going on in the area as well that we will be reporting on here shortly.
