Dominical Costa RicaLa Choza de AlejoPlease see that Alejo sees this testimonial. I hope this helps his
business as LCDA was one of the nicest places we have stayed in CR.
Largely due to Alejo's friendly demeanor but also because he has done
such a great
job on the hotel. (506) 770-2019 e-mail: lachozadealejo@dominical.biz Nestled in amongst these Costa Rican natural wonders, is a private hotel called LA CHOZA DE ALEJO. Prices 1 Double Bed $50.00 + tax "On our last visit to Dominical... my wife and I stayed at a hotel called La Choza de Alejo. La Choza is up the mountain a little bit towards San Isidro on the paved road between Plantanillo and Tinamastes at an elevation of about 2000 feet. The ocean is visible down the valley although sometimes a little hazy. We really enjoyed our short trek up the mountain each afternoon after the long warm days at the beach. The hotel rooms are modern, spacious, spotlessly clean, have beautiful tile and wood throughout, showers really work well, and best of all, each room has a grand balcony to look out over the mountains to the sea. Also visible from the balconies are the gardens of La Choza de Alejo, complete with a small waterfall just behind the beautiful restaurant and bar which fronts stands of 100 foot tall bamboo. The evenings and mornings at this elevation were a cool refresher from the steamy days and nights at the beach. Well worth the short jaunt up the hill. We slept with our balcony door open at night and enjoyed the cool mountain breeze. What we liked most about La Choza de Alejo however, was Alejo and his family. Alejo has a contagious Tico spirit where everyday is an opportunity for La Pura Vida. He pays attention to details and took care of every request we had.. both promptly and with "mucho gusto". He even anticipated several of our desires such as noticing that we had a couple of bottles of wine in our room.. whence the next evening when we returned from the beach... there were two wine glasses on our balcony to enhance our sunset viewing pleasure. He also noticed that my wife would walk to the restaurant at about 6:30 A.M. to get a cup of coffee. Next evening there was a tray in our room complete with coffee maker, a bag of excellent Costa Rican coffee, cups, creamer, etc. I highly recommend La Choza de Alejo when visiting Dominical. The restaurant is excellent as Alejo's wife is an excellent cook and serves mexican fare along with seafood. Amazingly the room rates and food are also a bargain with a double starting at just $ 40.00 per night." Sincerely Will & Kathleen Blakeley San Diego Ca. March 12, 2005
