I came to Costa Rica for my first time in 99' on a kayaking trip that my local sponsor in Colorado sent us on. Having some of the best, most exciting whitewater in the Ianworld was my reason to go...little did I know that I would be making a trip that would change my life forever. I immediately fell in love with the people, the culture and the country and knew that it was a place that would always be a part of me and that I would long to return to whenever I was away. 7 years later, and my love and passion for all that is Costa Rica is concrete and all that I have learned, seen and experienced here gives me such an unbelievable inner strength and has nourished my soul in so many different ways, I can't help to be exteremly excited about the future. And isn't that a great place to be in life, excited about what the next day will bring...happy to have found a place that I feel ' I belong here'!

I knew right away that I needed to 'cash in my chips' in the US and invest into Costa Rica. I was not sure where my 'calling' would be, but I had a great time following that road and weighing my options. My first stop was Guanacaste. (NW Pacific) I loved the white sand beaches and the fact that it was not so humid. Of course, I had just moved from Colorado, and after 8 years in such a dry climate, I welcomed the lack of humidity.Unfortunately, with this semi-desert like climate came months of dead looking, brown trees and foilage. Then the Burger King arrived in Tamarindo... and the Wild On E (tv show) came to document all the party hardy spring breakers. That was when I shifted my focus to somewhere down south.

After searching for years and looking at many options, I found Dominical and the Southern Zone. Jungle, mountains, waterfalls, and an incredible variety of biodiversity and NO BURGER KING !!...I knew right away that this was where I belonged. Every time I would paddle out to surf the warm, inviting waves of Dominical, I would look back at lush mountains that came right up to the Pacific and say " I want a peice of this...I want this for myself, for my son for my family for my future". After buying a ocean view/waterfall property in the mountains of Uvita in 2004, I focused on establishing myself in the area, beefing up my spanish skills and just enjoying the multitude of outdoor activities that are available in abundance in this area. Every time I would go back to the US to make money and see family, I would find myself longing to get back to paradise, longing to make Dominical my permanant home. After seeing my property in Uvita almost triple in price in a short amount of time, I sold my house in Boulder Colorado...cashed in ALL of my chips, and looked for another piece of land, closer to the world class surf break of Dominical . I found what I wanted, a gem of a property floating above the vast Pacific, and even though it was not technically 'for sale', we made it happen. We being Ben and I. He was my realtor and I was the cliente. After being offered a job to work with Ben, I accepted and rushed back to the US 'clear my plate'. Sell my car, close on my house, sell my belongings

I'm very excited to be working with Ben and the rest of the Dominical Dot Biz/Paradise Brokers team for a number of reasons. Honesty, thinking "Green" and representing the clientes wants and needs to the fullest are what set us apart from the rest.
