How to find us: We are located 7 km from Dominical up the paved highway to San Isidro del General, just before the village of Platanillo. Our facility is only 50 meters off the paved road and is 2-wheel drive accessible. There is parking available for large groups. Dominical and San Isidro taxi drivers know our location and the bus stops at our entrance!

You might want to put "Reptilandia" on your list of places to visit. Quetzal and his wife run their own reptile zoo there that is VERY nice and he's a true aficionado when it comes to the local herpetofauna. If you go there first, he'll tell you where to look for all the amazing reptiles that are found in that part of the World. Best, Jason

I figured I've earned the right to off-topic post this. For those of you heading to Costa Rica for some herps do yourself a favor and try to stop by Parque Reptilandia just outside of Dominical. I have been to a number of herp zoos and 'normal' zoos in latin american countries and let's just say they operate on a different set of standards than what americanos and euros are used to. However, this little zoo is by far the best with some beautiful enclosures and some top notch animals. Some friends of mine just opened it today. They have some cool herps - mostly snakes. The owners were nice enough to let me climb inside their bushmaster enclosure earlier this year and stand over a stunning 8' female to photo her. I hope to get my rear back in line and add a page to my website to show some of their animals; e.g. some of the largest eyelashes I've seen, brilliant Bothriechis nigroviridis, and some other rare things, not to mention the jumping caiman that loves red-eye frogs.
