Storm & Amy, proprietors of Bar Jolly Rodgers in Dominical, well actually, just south of Dominical, have clearly demonstrated that, if you do something well, folks'll go out of their way to get some.

Bar Jolly Rodgers is a phenomenon.  The place is hopping, fun, and the burgers, chicken wings and ceasar salads are top notch.  I'm not just saying this.  The chicken wings that I've had at Jolly Rodgers are the best I've ever had.

Saturday night is poker night, and so things start getting ramped up at around 8:00-ish. 

For visitors to the Dominical and Uvita area, if you want to get to know the expats that live in The Zone, stop by.  Any night will do, but you'll get an intense dose on Saturday night. 

The Super Bowl bash that Storm & Amy put on rivals any of the other annual celbrations for passion and spectacle - including Christmas.  If you missed it, make plans for next year.  Storm is truly a Master of Ceremony.

The bar is well stocked and there is an extensive beer selection. 

The main attraction at Bar Jolly Rodges is the Chicken Wing menu. 

Getting There:
Head south from Dominical or north from Uvita.  When you see the entrance to Cuna Del Angel on the ocean side of the highway, you'll see a road across from Cuna going up the hill. There is even a Jolly Rodgers sign there.  Drive up that 4 wheel drive road.  You'll see the sign to Jolly Rodgers about 5 minutes up on your left.

Hungry lunch seekers will travel from Uvita to Dominical for a Chapys wrap.

The presentation of excellent quality ingredients in the wraps and sandwiches at Chapys is what makes the place so compelling.  Walk up to the bar and order from the menu that is an enormous, and artistically done blackboard behind the fixins.  Take a seat and enjoy sipping on your drink as you wait for the main course. When it comes, you'll know it.  Huge wraps, & salads to help energize the day's activities.

Roca Verde offers the perfect mix of local dishes and tropical cuisine.  The menu includes healthy salads, seafood dishes and pasta dishes.  The full bar and colorful art on every wall give this oceanfront restaurant a relaxed vibe.  Everyone knows that Roca Verde is the place to be on a Saturday night, but the great food and service are known mostly to the locals.

Roca Verde is one of the few restaurants in the Dominical area that is truly "on the beach".  Take an after breakfast walk on the beach, or grab your board and run up the beach to the world famous surf spot; Dominical Beach. 

Roca Verde certainly isn't for the budget surfer crowd. But for those that surf, that would like a nicer place to stay and that features this wonderful restaurant & bar, choose Roca Verde.
