Tico-Fusion with an ocean view. With one of the best views in the zone, ¿Por Que No? serves breakfast on their patio in the mornings from 7-11am, Sunday to Monday. Must haves include their fruit smoothies, delicious coffee, wood-fired pizza, nightly specials and the private table down at their Rancho Relaxo for the romantic dinner for 2. Only 5 min out of Dominical this place has a great vibe with some tasty treats & funky beats.

Webguy’s Comments: The only “first person” account that I can give for Por Que No is the word on the street, and it is good… well “superlative” would be more descriptive of what I’ve heard from trusted (read: critical) sources. I know the setting well, but have yet to personally experience dining there since Jo & Shelby have taken over.

You are on the water. The grounds are impeccable. The coastline at the resort is rocky and the water is in constant play, with the waves sending up plumes from their meeting up with the labyrinth of rocks, which in turn provides the background music for your visit and dining experience. I have been invited for a meal, and so will shortly have a “first person” account for you.

Webguy’s Comment Updated: Wow!!! I can now say from first-hand experience that no visit to the Dominical area would be complete without at least one meal at Por Que No.

0 PM – 9:00 PM Tues – Sun (closed Mon nights)

Directions from the north: At the intersection of the roads to Quepos, San Isidro and Dominical, there is a police checkpoint. Go through the checkpoint and cross the Baru river. Immediately to your right is the turnoff to Dominical, but keep going straight for 2 kilometers (1.6 miles) until you see the sign for Costa Paraiso on your right. ¿Por Que No? is located in the grounds of Costa Paraiso. You can’t miss it!
