Driving south from Dominical, you get to an area known as Dominicalito. There is no sign for Dominicalito, but there is a straight stretch of the highway, at the end of which you'll see signs for "La Macha" on the inland side of the highway, and "La Parcela" on the right, or ocean side. Turn there towards the ocean and drive back on the point to La Parcela.
Believed by many to be one of the best oceanfront restaurants in the country, Restaurante La Parcela has served locals and visitors continuously for nearly 40 years.
Located on the Punta (point) at Playa Dominicalito, La Parcela is distinguished by a small island, approximately 200 meters from the shore, which is visible regardless of tidal changes. Prominent on the island is a large tree. For decades, the point near La Parcela has been a favorite spot for viewing spectacular sunsets. Ask for directions to “Sunset Point.”
From the dining area, your view to the south includes the Osa Peninsula, one of the most bio-diverse spots on our planet. Also to the south is Whale’s Tail in Ballena National Park. Humpback whale sightings are common in the area between December and April, when whales migrate from North and South America to give birth. It is not unusual to see surfers catching waves to the south of La Parcela. The bay to the north of La Parcela harbors local sports fishing charters and artisan fishing boats, the source of the delicious fresh fish, shrimp, and lobster featured on our menu.
Patrons come to La Parcela for the view, but come back for the food and the friendly people. The menu features local favorites, such as , ceviche, pescado entero (whole fish), arroz con pollo (rice and chicken), and tres leches, as well as house specialties prepared from the freshest meats, seafoods, produce, and products. Fine wines, beers, and specialty drinks are available to enhance your dining experience. Complete your meal with a delicious tropical flaming dessert prepared at your table by one of our wait staff.
We are proud of our excellent and loyal team, directed by our manager Joseph Picado. Our head chef, Fanny Barrantes has been with us for five years. Rodolfo Obando, our most tenured and oldest employee, has been graciously serving our guests for nearly 25 years. All are ready and eager to serve you with a friendly smile and warm welcome.
